Last month, I traveled to Puerto Rico for the ROI Summit (for coaches, consultants, and entrepreneurs) and some hiking adventures. Inspiring, energizing, and challenging is how I’d describe it. And I even made some new biz besties connecting in person. Thank goodness, I showed up for myself.

But I almost let my reasons (more so excuses) get in the way and convince me to back out and cancel it altogether. Literally like weeks before! It didn’t matter that I purchased an early bird ticket months in advance. I was talking myself out of it.

How can you justify going right now? Does this make sense?
This is going to cost more for 6 nights than one of my travel tours. Will it be worth it?
Maybe I can shorten my trip and skip the hiking adventures.
Maybe I can push off traveling until later in the year.
Maybe, Maybe, Maybe and Later. (Sound familiar?)

Then I realized this is not an either-or situation. I can figure this out. And I knew this trip would be a biz expense. Just like coaching and consulting are professional services expenses on the tax return. (If you have a business or side gig, talk to your accountant for confirmation.)

Instead of talking yourself out of it, Talk yourself into it. Find the reason(s) to move forward, even if you feel uncomfortable or nervous. Even if you’re not sure how you can make it work or what the next steps are. Be receptive to creative solutions and guidance. Be willing to be honest with yourself and others. Be Brave. If you desire it, then you’re worth it!

Find a way to challenge yourself.
Take it to your edge.
That uncomfortable-enough-to-stretch-you edge.
Feel the excitement and anticipation!
What does that mean for you?
Find the courage.
What are you waiting for?
Feel all the possibilities waiting for you.
Say YES to that kind of challenge.
Say YES to you!

Tell me, what does that look like for you? What’s the biggest thing holding you back? And when will you do it?
