Why I’m Letting Go of Long-Term Goals…

Make It Happen

When it comes to trying something new or embracing change or facing our fears, I’ve come to realize that sometimes it’s best and most successful to only commit to right now and short term. As in this day, this week, the next 2 weeks, the next month, or the next 3 months.

Because over-thinkers like myself, have a tendency to talk ourselves out of something before we even give it a chance.

How could this possibly work with my schedule?
What will I have to give up or change?
How will I be able to sustain this commitment?
Will this allow for flexibility in my life?

So let me walk you through my 5-step practical approach that I’ve used more recently when I evaluated whether or not to give CrossFit, skill-building and interval training [Continue Reading...]

Waking up to Your Life…

That moment when…Comparison and Keeping-up-with-everyone-else feeling begins to dissipate. Oh, how liberating it is to show up this way in life wherever we may be and whoever we may be with. When this happens, there’s this distinct knowing and happy feeling that positive change has occurred for you.

Something new is on the horizon, because you are being more present in the moment and open to receiving it. That is what we call a Positive Shift. Because something changed on the outside that reflects your newer internal way of being, your mind shifted, and your presence shifted.

And a few weeks ago, I experienced just that. After reactivating my gym membership (run and practice yoga in the warmer months), I returned back to the gym for Spin class and Vinyasa Yoga. Actually, [Continue Reading...]

Growing into Your Purpose…

Two years ago almost to the exact same weekend in October, I was attending Marie Forleo’s Rich Hot Happy (RHH) Live Event. I remember being wait-listed because I had deliberated too long on whether or not to invest the money in myself and the mission behind C&R Self. (This of course has evolved and more to come on that another time.)

I mean, how could I justify me being worthy enough to say yes to myself in this way?! Was I far along enough in C&R Self to really benefit from this event?

This wasn’t your average modestly priced weekend workshop of a hundred dollars. It was actually a few thousand dollars to attend for two and half days for brilliant coaching and insight of successful entrepreneurs, motivational speakers, NY Times [Continue Reading...]

Love this charming city of Kas, Turkey on the Mediterranean Sea! GAdventures Absolute Turkey Tour - August 2014.

Somehow, I traveled to one country in my last adventure, Turkey, though ended up in two continents, Europe and Asia. That’s right! Did you know that Turkey is a transcontinental country with only about 5 or 6 cities on the Europe side? Well, I didn’t either before my trip. Oh, another fun fact, Istanbul is the only city in the world split between two continents. And the current capital of Turkey is actually Ankara these days. Just some trivia knowledge for you in case you ever find yourself needing to answer these questions.

So today I’ll be sharing a few true stories and traveler survivor insights from my recent adventure to Turkey with the GAdventures tour group. Besides that I’ll also speak about how to really make your trip memorable (whether [Continue Reading...]

Cappadocia Hike on my birthday! - Cappadocia, Turkey, August 2014 - Absolute Turkey GAdventures Tour (Oh, by the way, Arianna Huffington shared this same photo on Instagram!! #HowIThrive #CRSelf)

About a year ago, I made a promise to myself that for as long as I’m single and without children, I would travel in the same month as my birthday. And so in keeping with that promise, I ended up in Cappadocia, Turkey on my actual birthday. For the first time, I didn’t worry or have major expectations about my actual birthday plans. I knew I’d be in Turkey on my GAdventures tour and with my friend Abby and would celebrate somehow or another.

Honestly, I was beyond thrilled to just be out of the country. It had been a more than a year since my last international adventure trip. As the trip approached, I looked closer at the itinerary and realized 5 days into the tour, we’d be in Cappadocia. [Continue Reading...]
