When’s the last time you’ve Challenged yourself? + It’s Here: VIP Strategy/Coaching Session

Yesterday, I was at the gym getting my CrossFit workout in. It was a short intense one, like most days.

15 min AMRAP
Bike 7 calories
10 Box StepUps (20lb Dumbbells/arm)
10 Toes2Bar (T2B)

I focused in on those Toes2Bar and I almost talked myself out of it. Then I paused and considered, maybe today’s the day I can do T2B again. Coming from a curiosity mindset and leaning into the possibility. I can’t even remember when I did T2B last, maybe last summer?

I felt kind of fine and my upper back wasn’t bothering me. (It’s where I have one or two ribs that tend to shift out of place from when I injured myself during a simple yoga spinal twist years ago. I know kind of silly, right? The lesson learned is the importance [Continue Reading...]

Let’s Talk About Friendships plus an Exciting Update!

Before we get into this topic today, I want to call out a short love note at the bottom, giving you a heads up on an exclusive opportunity to work with me 1:1 through a VIP Strategy/Coaching Session. So check that out, before you move on to your next email or task or fun activity for the day. And mark your calendar!

Let’s talk about friendship, how it begins, and how it evolves over time. I shared this post recently on Instagram, but I know some of you may not be on there or may have missed this one.

6.5.21 – Nature Walk from Robert Moses Beach (field 5) to Kismet, Fire Island. One of my favorites. (And a few other photos from other times.)

Today it’s the story of how Laurel and [Continue Reading...]

How I’m Transitioning from Corporate into Sabbatical Leave (And some practices for you!)

Self-Honoring

Let’s talk about sabbatical leave and transitions. If, for some reason, you missed my huge news that I shared last month, check out my previous blog post, Farewell, Starting a New Chapter, here.

(Here’s the voice memo of this message if you prefer to listen instead.)

But first, we need to get honest. Raise your hand, if you believed that working from home in the last year would’ve had you in the best shape of your life? I mean, how could we not with all that flexibility? (I do know of a few people who fit into this category. I’m so proud of them for showing up for themselves in this way!)

So let me tell you. I’ve got both hands raised over here. Because it turns out that wasn’t the case for me. [Continue Reading...]

Farewell, Starting a New Chapter

This past week I found myself teetering between procrastinating and finding it hard to let go. That back and forth of wait-just-one-more-thing-I-need-to-do-or-closeout and I-still-have-time. But it’s time to shut down that work laptop. Even though I’m grounded in my decision to move forward, it’s still difficult to walk away. I mean, I’ve been praying and taking aligned action, so what’s with the hesitation? I suppose twenty years invested in a career or relationship will do that to you.

Given this is huge news for me, I wanted to share with all of you the exact “Farewell, Starting a New Chapter” email I sent to my colleagues and friends. May it inspire you to show up in your life today, tomorrow, and always.

Let’s Walk Together and (My NY Times Debut in Modern Love!)

AFSP Paws for Prevention Walk - Preston and I - 9/2020
AFSP Paws for Prevention Walk - Preston and I - 9/2020

For quite some time, that inner voice kept telling me, “Share this part of the story.” At first, I thought I needed to rework another essay and make this the ending. But then I realized, maybe this can be a story in itself.

Bottomline, pay attention to your intuition, as it’s always guiding you in the right direction. Trust it. Trust Yourself. Trust the Universe. Trust the messages and signs you receive from your loved ones who have passed on.

Here’s my NY Times debut in the Modern Love’s Tiny Love Stories, honoring my youngest sister, Melina. This month marks two years since she’s been gone. Though, she’s always forever in our hearts.

May it bring some comfort to you and those who can relate, as this moment did for me.

Thank-you for your compassion. Thank-you [Continue Reading...]
