Even Badass Warriors have Moments when they want to Quit.

I am a humble badass warrior. I am like the Buffalo who goes Charging into the Storm. I face my doubts. I face my fears. I run through the resistance. I get comfortable with the uncomfortable. And I let others show up and support me.

Even when want to talk myself out of it.
Even when I want to lower the stakes.
Even when I want to quit the day before and in the middle of the race. (For real!)

I feel the feelings of nervousness and anxiety and fear. I begin to worry if I’m prepared enough. I begin to have terrible visions of pushing myself beyond my edge that I’m collapsing and throwing up at the end of the race.

Then I remember the way through.
I channel all of that energy into power.

Know that the Past is Your Teacher + Mantra for you!

Past is Your Teacher KD Mantra

“Past is your teacher, Present is your creation, Future is your inspiration,” Kacy Duke on Inventing Anna, Netflix limited Series, said to her training/coaching clients as a motivational mantra. It was a meet-and-greet between his adorable doodle puppy, Sandie, and my 3-year-old doodle, Preston. We forgot to take a photo of the pups together, and here’s why.

After we finished the walk, I couldn’t find my car key and was concerned that maybe I didn’t put it in my crossover bag. Maybe I got distracted when I went to pet Sandie and dropped it in the parking lot? Maybe I dropped it somewhere along the path? Oh goodness.

My coworker drove me home to get my spare key and we went back to the park.

Thankfully I didn’t lock my car because my house key was [Continue Reading...]
