Have you ever considered your sense of responsibility and if it’s working for you or against you in what you ultimately want to achieve in your life?

Being responsible is definitely essential. However, your degree of responsibility could be getting in your own way. That is of discovering who you truly are as an individual, and what you have to contribute and experience in this world. Fear of the unknown, reasons or excuses we tell ourselves or others can simply get in the way. As a result, we remain on the same path or in the same situation, without trying something new. And therefore limiting our true potential and outcomes. A case of when sense of responsibility is working against us here.

It’s a universal truth that anything extreme is not necessarily good for us. [Continue Reading...]

Commitment to learning is a mission to staying true to yourself and reconnecting with your divine self. For some people, like myself, this fiery desire of learning is just something I can’t live without, and is almost like an addiction.

Have another confession for you!

So recently, when I was feeling like I lost my creativity and wasn’t quite sure what to do about it, I was not in my best place, and went into this searching phase of trying to figure out what to do next. Then I came to realize that obsessing over this concern was just not working for me. It was actually having the opposite effect, where I was blocking the positive energy and creativity. Hello! How could I have not recognized this? It was time to shift [Continue Reading...]

Strategy for Running & Relationships. It’s All in the Approach!

Cow Harbor Day - Northport Harbor, NY - 9/2011
Cow Harbor Day - Northport Harbor, NY - 9/2011

As the Cow Harbor 10k race is approaching in the coming weeks, it suddenly became obvious to me during my last practice run of the course that running a race implies similar strategy as approaching a relationship.

In the beginning, even though the adrenaline rush is taking over and the excitement of the new is heightened, you can’t go out too fast at the start of a race, or rush a relationship to hurry love. Otherwise, you just won’t stand a chance to make it to the finish line strong or really give the relationship the opportunity to develop!  It’s all about pacing yourself in the race, and in a relationship. Get connected with yourself and the other person first, so you can determine if you’re compatible.

Challenging hills in a race represent [Continue Reading...]

at Club Getaway in Kent, Connecticut! What a sense of triumph from Hiking/Rock Climbing Adventure!!

Here’s to new adventures, good times, and stories to tell for years to come!!

Two weekends ago, I found myself with two of my close friends, Erica and AnneMarie, at Club Getaway getting reacquainted with our inner adult camper, adventurous selves, and lodging in rustic cabins.

On the first day, we hiked the Appalachian Trail for two hours and we conquered Caleb’s Peak and St John’s Ledge with a rainforest like experience on the way back. Steady, Safe, Strong!! This was the Self Mantra that I began to chant with my girls all the way back down the mountain trail to the bus making sure we didn’t slip off the rocks or ledges. It was definitely a fun time, with laughs, and adventures at Club Getaway even in the down pouring rain!

Living a Healthy Lifestyle Inside Out

Blog - Living a Healthy Lifestyle Inside Out

Listen up; it’s not just about exercising. So I’m going to let you in on one my biggest secrets on how I live a healthy lifestyle inside out. I’m known as the “Fiber Queen” with my friends, family, and coworkers. Literally, everyone knows this and will ask me for tips and advice on how to incorporate more fiber into their diets, and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It may come as a surprise to people, when they realize that I tend to have in moderation, some sweets everyday. Love Dark Chocolate Edamames, Red Velvet cupcakes, Rainbow cookies/cake, and Ralph’s Ices!

However, I wasn’t always known as the “Fiber Queen”. This all came about back when I was a senior in college. In Respect & Honor Your Inner-Neurotic Quirky Self, previous blog [Continue Reading...]
