Just thinking about all the catch up I need to do can stress me out. Ever feel like this? Seriously, between finishing up work initiatives, social gatherings/events, writing projects, my book proposal, it can all get a little overwhelming.

Thinking about work, there have been times for me when I never thought I would ever catch up with Employee Relations notes. To elaborate further, Employee Relations is simply described as an issue in the workplace related to an employee, whether it is just that employee, between several employees, or even a more serious complaint made against another employee/management or the company.

When people ask me what do I do in my HR role, I typically respond that I manage every aspect of HR for the facility I support, which includes hiring, firing, [Continue Reading...]

Ever have one of those days when everything seems to be going wrong? What about when you’ve thought your worst nightmare came true? You are so lying to me if you tell me you’ve never had one of those days or thought possibly one of your biggest fears may have become a reality. How did you react and deal with all of this?

Well, allow me to share how I’ve reacted and have coped with these situations. First, I may initially panic over the thoughts running a million miles a minute in my mind of everything negative that could possibly happen based on news I received -focusing on how my world is about to fall apart.

Then I may even (quite often) break down crying or get angry or laugh out of nervousness, [Continue Reading...]

Rainbow at Machu Picchu, Peru One of my next Travel Adventures - Climbing Machu Picchu!

As much as I’m a very honest straight forward tell-it-like-it-is type of person, truth be told, I sometimes struggle with having those difficult confrontational conversations. Having to tell others “no” or how you will not spend time with them because you don’t agree with the decisions they make or their lifestyle or how they complain about everything but do nothing to change the situation, can be stressful and apprehensive.

Perhaps, it may be about how you are insulted or bothered by something a friend or coworker did, and you are not sure where it is coming from or the reason for such behavior. It could very well be nothing that you have done wrong at all, and this person may be angry or jealous of you for some reason that you [Continue Reading...]

Setting Boundaries – Being Bold or Less Confrontational

feature-Setting Boundaries

At a very young age, I learned that I needed to distance myself from people who weren’t truly my friends and even from my mother who has a dysfunctional approach to life. Basically, I came to understand the importance of creating boundaries to protect myself. As detached and awful as this might seem to some, it was absolutely essential in order for me to focus my energy and efforts on what was most significant during my childhood all the way through my college years – my education and creating a better life for myself.

So let me share what worked for me, and feel free to use what works and feels comfortable for you at this time. Perhaps you are not ready to have that confrontational conversation to share how you [Continue Reading...]

PRAISE

I loved reading this! I read it twice. This is by far one of the best statements I’ve come across…”holding on longer came at a very big expense of taking or challenging my spirit for life, my energy/motivation, my time, my goals/dreams, my focus, and my physical/mental/emotional health!

Sarina as a speaker is inspiring and engaging. Her perspective of Learning How to Embrace Change and How she became a Half Marathon Runner left a lasting impression on my High School Students. How to ʺbounce backʺ from some tough obstacles was empowering and insightful on the approach to life. Keep doing what you’re doing! Look forward to having you back as a Class Speaker!

I cannot thank you enough for all that you did! Thank you for your advice throughout the process. The article, Are you Obsessing Over or Manifesting What you Desire, truly inspired me and was very personally relevant to my situation. Great advice and kept me focused on the right energy without obsessing and led to the desired outcome! I was truly not attached to the outcome, just hopeful of it. What less stress and anxiety I felt, as a result. Highly recommend this Manifesting concept!

I just wanted to say I never told you what an amazing woman I thought you were and such a great role model. I know I’m older, but I definitely learned a thing or two from you. It took me some time, but I’m finding my way.

Sarina’s intelligent, tactful, yet straight forward demeanor blends well with multiple personalities. As an HR Manager and Life Coach, she has incredible insight as well as great presentation skills. Having had the opportunity to attend a seminar she gave on How to Win Over the Hiring Manager, it was impressive to see how engaged the audience was, and the take away of helpful hints was over the top. Having attended seminars with many of the top ‘name brand’ training companies, I can say that the training received from Sarina was outstanding in its practical, no-nonsense and immediately applicable approach. Sarina was excellent at keeping the whole group involved. The experience was a great investment for all who participated.
