For me, lately, my sleep schedule has been all over the place. I find it hard to motivate myself to go to bed, because I tell myself, I haven’t accomplished enough for that day.

At the same time, I tell myself, I deserve to relax and not work so hard or extended hours into the evening.

Then starts the next day cycle, my overly ambitious thinking I can accomplish 10 high-priority things in one day. But first…snoozing for 30 min to 1 hour after my alarm! What a sleep pattern cycle, I’ve created for myself. (Btw, I know anything more than 3-5 priorities in a day is too many.)

Wait, I just checked; there are 12 different tasks on my schedule today. All must get done. Are you with me here?

No wonder, I’m feeling less productive. It’s conflicting and confusing to my mind and body.

The tug of war becomes: sleep/rest pull, work/accomplish more pull, wait I need sleep/rest – pull harder, wait I need to work/accomplish more – pull harder. You get it.

What I need more is harmony between both sides, not tug of war. Can you relate?

So I decided to sign up for the free Sleep Support Tapping Challenge. I already had the Tapping Solution app, but lost sight of this Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practice. With reminders, you can turn on, and it takes you step-by-step through the practice or guided meditation. You can’t mess it up.

I know EFT works, because I experienced it firsthand years ago, when I was convinced I’d have a panic attack going back to the dentist. Traumatized and anxious. I couldn’t talk myself into it without my heart racing, my body sweating, and my mind taking me down this downward spiral of terrible thoughts that would happen as a result.

I already had my mindfulness and meditation practices and strategies. But that wasn’t enough. I knew I needed something else to lower the anxiety. One that would provide more of a sense of calm, a sense of control, and a feeling of being safe.

Two 1:1 sessions with an EFT practitioner, five days of solo practice of 10-15min, made all the difference in the world! It cleared my anxiety and stress. Prevented any panic attacks from striking.

EFT works; give it a chance, if you haven’t already. By the way, clinical research backs up this practice. And if you have no sleep worries or troubles (I’m envious), you might still benefit from the other meditations focused on lowering stress levels, reducing anxiety, overcoming fears, relieving pain, increasing confidence, shifting to more positive thoughts and energy, and more.

Here’s to getting back to a more restful sleep routine, fewer worries, and more trusting everything will get done at the right time. I’m here for you.
