Alright, I’ll admit to it, even after being somewhat reluctant to adding something else to my hectic lifestyle and to making another daily commitment; I’ve become obsessed with Green Juice! And I’m having a serious love fest with it!

That’s right “Fiber Queen” is making her way to becoming “Green Juice Queen”. Who would have thought that this could be such an adventure and so much fun? Everything from going to the market to selecting a variety of veggies, fruits, herbs, and roots, to figuring out how to prep a piece of ginger and beet, to all the abundant and creative recipes of green juicing/smoothies! Of course, I had to ask my sister, Amanda, for help on what to do with ginger root and the beet. Wow, there was so much I needed to learn and I’m still learning!

One of the best decisions I made with green juicing was to keep it simple. Rather than overwhelm myself with making a different type of green smoothie or juice everyday, I keep to a few favorite green juice recipes. I’ve identified some basic ingredients that seem to overlap with so many recipes, so I can mix it up and get fancy if I desire so!

Fortunately for you, today I’m sharing some tips of how you can also step into this commitment and make it work for you! It will be simple, delicious, holistic, and nurturing for the mind and body inside out! Are you ready? Let’s get started!

How Does Someone Get Started Juicing?
10 Simple Steps to Green Juicing & Living Like You Mean It!
1. Like anything else, rather than over commit to it, start with small sustainable realistic steps/changes.
2. If a daily practice seems a bit much right now for you, then simply try transitioning into Green Smoothies/Juicing a few days/week. Then work your way up to everyday. Decide on how many days each week you are willing to commit to this new lifestyle.
3. Drink and sample it everywhere you can! Also, why not get a different juice every time you visit your local juice bar? This way you can figure out your preferences. Then before you know it you’ll acquire a taste for Green Juice in a short time! Google or YELP it, if you’re not sure where they are at in your neighborhood.
4. Get a Juicing Reference guide to learn about juicing and the different ways to go about it. Kris walks you through it as if she’s your friend in your kitchen teaching you all the basics and beyond!
5. Perhaps start with Green Smoothies by using the blender in your house. This is how I eased into the daily practice of having my liquid green goodness! After two weeks of Green Smoothies, I was ready to step it up and get myself a fancy Juicer!
6. Make a juicing shopping checklist that you’ll reference on weekly basis. Even better, save it in your iPhone/BB/Droid, so you always have it with you!
7. Juice either in the morning or prep/juice at night, depending on your schedule and the juicer you select. Simplifying my life was the approach I was taking, so I decided to go with the Omega Vertical Slow Juicer (Masticating type). With this particular type of juicer, I juice only 2-3 times/week and make enough for 2/3 days saved in mason jars in the fridge. This particular one allows me to save and drink my green juice up to 72 hours!
8. Mason Jars can be located at your local hardware or arts & crafts store. Be sure to seal your juice all the way to the top and remove the foam, otherwise oxygen will start to break down the enzymes and vitamins.
9. When I’m looking to substitute fresh Green Juice here and there because let’s be real, sometimes things are hectic, then I go with having Greens First. This is a greens blend power that you mix with water – what a lifesaver! Actually, I’ve been drinking Greens First practically on a daily basis for the past 2 years or so. I get this from my Wellness Chiropractor just like my other health supplements I take on a daily basis for digestion and my adrenal glands.
10. Green Juicing is not starving yourself in fact it’s nourishing every cell in your body! I drink my Green Juice before breakfast (typically 30min – 1 hr before) or in between meals. It can also be a glorious mid-afternoon energy booster! Try substituting your coffee for a Green Juice instead.

So what’s next? Well for me I’ll be finished reading Crazy Sexy Diet- Eat Your Veggies, Ignite Your Spark, and Live Like You Mean It! by Kris Carr over the next 2 weeks. Then I’ll get started with the 21-day adventure cleanse (green juicing/vegan diet approach) from the book along with practicing meditation to create more self awareness and liberation, to detox my self-sabotaging thoughts/fears and addictive habits (chocolate/sugar/excessive gluten), and to give myself permission to go after what I really want to manifest in my life and in this world! It’s time!

What I want for you to realize is you’re worth it! You’re good enough and deserving enough to live a healthy and abundant life with everything you ever dreamed of. All you have to do is Choose to Step into Your Greatness and Be unapologetic of who you are!
